Senior Ecologists and Ecologists

We’re expanding our team throughout the south, south east and south west of England to meet increasing demand. We’d welcome experienced Senior Ecologists and Ecologists to support our friendly colleagues on a day-to-day basis.

Here’s the job description. Take a look.

If you’re interested, please send your CV and availability to [email protected].

Seasonal Assistants and Sub-contractors

In time for the busy summer season, we’re on the lookout for enthusiastic and reliable surveyors to help with bat surveys. We’ll provide training and equipment, but you should know this job involves working at unsociable hours across your local county. You’ll need a driving licence and car access.

If you’re interested, please send your CV and availability to [email protected].

Work Experience

We don’t specifically take in work-experience trainees. But if ecology is your thing and you’d like to gain some experience, you should first take part in our bat surveys as a sub-contractor or seasonal assistant to get a feel for the job. If you want to discuss this further, please email us at [email protected].

Who are we?

Darwin Ecology is an established ecological consultancy.

We’re known for providing professional, innovative and conservation-led schemes. The company thrives on collaboration between our two main offices in Farnham and Shaftesbury, supported by our satellite team in Bristol. Together, we design and create bespoke solutions for our clients across Southern England.

As an ecology consultancy, our role is to help you realise your development ambitions, guide you through the planning process and deliver our core ‘integrated conservation’ ethos. We achieve this on every project by protecting, mitigating and enhancing wildlife opportunities as part of the built environment.

Educating the people we work with, enhancing their careers and motivating them to share our vision of a wilder future is an important part of working at Darwin Ecology.

What makes us different?

A big part of Darwin Ecology’s ethos is getting stuck in. We take a hands-on approach to mitigation and enhancement measures during the final stages of a project. If you enjoy designing bespoke solutions to on-site problems, you’ll be at home here. We encourage our team to get creative and think outside the box.

We’ll strengthen your existing specialisms and support you as you explore new passions and directions.

But what’s work without perks? As a Darwin Ecologist, you’ll be invited to seasonal meals out with the team, frequent training events, online game evenings, and mid- and end-of-season parties. We also have a generous bonus scheme on top of annual salaries.

If this sounds like it could be up your street, check out our current opportunities above and get in touch with us now.
